University of Copenhagen is offering scholarships in algorithms and data structures at the department of computer science. Applicants applying for the scholarship must have a background within algorithms and theoretical computer science as demonstrated by graduate level courses and/or project and thesis work.  The position is open from 1 September 2013. Scholarship Description:  Professor Mikkel Thorup at the Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, seeks applications for a PhD scholarship within algorithms and data structures with start Fall 2013. The scholar will participate in a Center for Efficient Algorithms and Data Structures funded by an Advanced Grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research starting Fall 2013. Number of Awards: 1-2 Scholarships are offered. Duration of Awards: The appointment is for a period of 3 years in case you have completed an MSc degree, or 4 years in case you have completed a BSc degree plus the equivalent of one year of studies in an MSc program. The appointment must lead to a dissertation. What does it Cover?  The salary and appointment terms are according to the current agreement for PhD students of 1 April 2012 according to which the minimum monthly salary incl. allowance and pension savings currently amounts to approximately DKK 27,670/EUR 3,710/USD 4,880.
